Located in Tokyo’s “Joutou” (“upper east side” in Japanese), Share House Ueno no Mori enjoys the rapid development around the area thanks to urban revitalization and the construction of the Tokyo Sky Tree.
Part of the area that isn’t being revitalized is nearby Ueno Park, which has always been a draw for both Japanese and foreign people alike. At 530,000 sqaure meters, the park is one of the largest in Tokyo and is within walking distance to Share House Ueno no Mori. Within Ueno Park, you can experience many of Tokyo’s rich cultural offerings such as the Tokyo National Museum, the National Western Art Museum and Ueno Zoo.
Another big feature with Ueno Park is the sheer amount of Sakura (Cherry Blossom) trees the park has. Spring is the best time to view these trees as they are pink only for a few days when they bloom. “Shinobazuno-ike” is a nearby pond that is covered in floating lotus flowers and, in the winter, many birds flying south stop to refresh themselves at the pond.
Access is king at Share House Ueno no Mori as the closest transportation gateway is Ueno station. Ueno station provides not only convenient access to the rest of the Tokyo metropolitan area but also to the Tohoku and Niigata regions too. Also, Ueno is the terminal stop for several rapid express trains operating direct to and from Narita Airport making Ueno station an ideal and accessible location for anyone.
