There are many ways to enjoy your time in Japan with Social Apartment shared living complexes and recently, the options just got better. With the soon to open locations in Aobadai (Kanagawa) and Hanakoganei (Tokyo), Social Apartment can assist you with more ways of getting settled for your stay in Japan.

Social Apartment Aobadai features all the elements that other Social Apartment locations offer like a sense of community and clean common areas with a twist. The Aobadai location includes a billiard table in the common area for tenants to use as well as a beauty room with facilities and equipment for women. The large island in the kitchen adds to the sense of community as guests can get to know each other over the creation and consumption of a home cooked meal.

The private rooms are comfortable with residents having a shower and toilet space within the room which is unique for a shared living complex. Each room comes complete with a private closet space and a mini-kitchen too. With rents starting from around ¥60,000 a month, Social Apartment Aobadai makes a great location for anyone working in both Tokyo and Yokohama.

The location of the building is enviable when compared to other locations in this price range.  Aobadai station on the Denenchofu line is located 25 minutes from Shibuya and 35 minutes from Yokohama giving great access to both metropolitan areas.  From Aobadai station the building itself is located in a very quiet residential area within an easy walk to supermarkets, parks, a hospital and all the other necessities of life. To make it more convenient, on top of Aobadai station is a fitness center and a Tokyu shopping mall. Put simply, living in Aobadai is advantageous for all walks of life.

Social Apartment Aobadai is set to open November 1st, 2011 and is offering 1 month free rent to tenant’s who sign a contract between now and then. In addition, key money is waived for all foreign tenants making contract fees very minimal.

The other location set to open December 1st, 2011 is Social Apartment Hanakoganei located 25 minutes from Shinjuku station on the Seibu Shinjuku line. Like the Aobadai location, Hanakoganei is also a designer building showcasing brand new architecture that highlights community. The community centerpiece of Hanakoganei is the luxurious lounge space where tenants can spend time with each other in a relaxed atmosphere.

The lounge comes complete with large sofas set atop real hardwood flooring surrounded by a curved wall of windows that overlooks the wood veranda. This isn’t a small veranda either; it is tempting to think of Sunday afternoon BBQ parties when you first set eyes upon the space. On the more serious side of things, Social Apartment Hanakoganei provides language exchanges and networking events throughout the week in addition to the organized parties on the weekend.

Social Apartment Hanakoganei offer the highest quality kitchen and bath spaces as well as comfortable private rooms with an average rent of around ¥47,000 a month. Here too key money is waived for foreign tenants and comes with 1 month free rent similar to the Aobadai location.

Nearby the building is Hanakoganei park which is famous for it’s abundant Sakura (cherry blossom) trees. Every spring the sakura trees bloom and it is tradition in Japan to have a sakura tree blooming event called “Hanami” in Japanese. When Hanami season comes in the spring, residents in the building will always be invited to a yearly party produced by Social Apartments. Since Social Apartment Hanakoganei is the only building in the Social Apartment series that is located near a park with this many sakura trees, the Hanami party will be unique only to this location.

The Social Apartment series of shared residences has built not only a reputation of quality but also of community by incorporating large common lounges in all it’s properties. Social Apartment Aobadai and Hanakoganei follow the tradition of community living by ensuring that regardless of nationality, age or gender, the tenant experience in either property will further expand your networks and opportunities here in Japan.
