To conduct business in a global setting, you need to have a set of tools to analyze business issues in a global nature. Some Japanese universities dooffer MBA programs in English, but do they really offer a successful program to prepare you for such a global setting?

If you want to learn about and be specialized in the Japanese businesses, then it might be better to choose a business school affiliated with a Japanese university. However, recognition of Japanese institutions among global companies is not necessarily high and usually pretty limited. If you want to pursue your career on a global scale, then it is worthwhile to pursue an MBA degree at an internationally recognized non-Japanese university. Also, it is highly recommended that you choose an MBA program whose student body has a good mix of students from around the world. It is invaluable for you to learn from classmates whose cultures and backgrounds are different from yours.

In addition, one of the benefits of pursuing an MBA degree from a non-Japanese business school is getting access to its global alumni network. While the majority of Japanese schools’ alumni are Japanese based in Japan, an internationally recognized MBA program tends to have an extensive global alumni network which you will be able to tap into.
