Businesswoman and author, Ruth Jarman Shiraishi is a long resident of Japan and is the CEO of Jarman International. Ruth is the first and only western woman to hold a Japanese real estate license and has spent the past 24 years working in and with Japanese companies.
She has witnessed the impact that globalization has had on Japanese companies and the struggles they face to adapt to a rapidly changing business economy. While the main stream press may have written off Japan Inc. as a relic of past economic success, Ruth still sees many areas where Japanese business excels and areas where Western business could learn from the Japanese model.
