Iron Man 3: A Little Bit of Everything Rolled Into One

April 30th, 2013By Category: Arts & Entertainment, Events

Iron Man 3 will be released in 4D in Nagoya, – 4D meaning vibrating seats, smell-o-vision and more, that are coordinated with the action scenes in the movie.

I’ve seen Captain America on 4D, and to be honest, I wasn’t that impressed, so we decided not to try it on 4D. But 4D or not, if it’s Robert Downey Jr., I’d be the first one on the line…besides it’s Iron Man. You can’t get more badass than that.

When the first movie came out, we were all excited to see yet another superhero movie to grace the screens with its bright colors and clever storyline – not to mention a HUGE comeback for Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man 2 in 2010 was even more exciting with weird villains, lovely ladies and of course, a rollicking soundtrack. In this third Iron Man movie, I personally think it’s the sweet cherry on top because of its humor and overall bang.

The cast of course, already sent goosebumps to me when they officially announced it at ComicCon. Robert Downey Jr. owned the character right from the start, to the extent that the character would be so boring if it isn’t him. Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts is full of grace and surprises as well, while Don Cheadle as Colonel Rhodes is solid and dependable.

Jon Favreau who directed the first two movies, had to sit back and enjoy playing his role as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark’s most dependable bodyguard. New cast members who were equally entertaining and clever with playing their roles are Guy Pierce, Rebecca Hall and Ben Kingsley as the evil Mandarin.

All in all, Iron Man 3 has so many high points. It’s a given, the effects were marvelous, but it’s the humor that will leave you wanting more of Iron Man, and anticipating other upcoming superhero movies in the summer. It’s hard to pick a favorite among the fun scenes, but the unmasking of the Mandarin was my favorite. It was raining one-liners, and a little hint of Thor 2 when Tony Stark was captured by Aldich Killian, Guy Pearce’s character – if you really paid attention. đŸ˜‰

However, if there is a lack in Iron Man 3, it is the music of AC/DC. Otherwise it is the perfect summer blockbuster film with a little bit of everything: action, comedy, romance and jaw-dropping stunts–especially the stunning free-fall rescue from Air Force one–again, it’s hard to pick a favorite without spoiling everything. The movie may have received mixed reviews, but it never stopped the audiences to go to the cinemas to make Marvel and Disney rich.

You just have to see it for yourself, especially if you’re a superhero fan. Oh and don’t forget, there’s a little surprise in the end after the credits…again.
