July 6th, 2010By Category: Uncategorized

Last year saw the giant Gundam statue stand proud over Odaiba (now in Shizuoka) and this year Akihabara has witnessed the opening of the Gundam Cafe. Now prepare for the first flight in a Gundam aircraft as All Nippon Airlines launches a Gundam-decorated Boeing 777-300. Akihabara News reports that starting July 16, ANA will offer flights on the Gundam Jet between Tokyo Haneda and Osaka Itami.

Fittingly, there will be a Gundam head depicted on the left side of the plane the regular ANA branding switched to read ANA x GUNDAM, while on the right side, there will be a a life-size depiction of Gundam lying down. “ANA x Gundam Jet” will operate until March 31, 2011 and all passengers who take the flight receive a special certificate for their exclusive experience.
