Radiation update
A press conference has recently finished in which the government reiterated that radiation levels are low in Kanto and under control in Fukushima. The fires are also under control, although there is a situation with the number 2 reactor that is still to be resolved.

Radiation detected in Saitama
Low levels of radiation have been detected in Tokyo and Saitama. These levels are still low enough not to cause harm, but residents are advised to take precautions and not to go out unless necessary.
Recent Announcements
Due to excessive numbers of people accessing the site we were temporarily down. Hopefully normal service will remain from now.
Recently, PM Kan announced that a fire on the No.4 reactor. This has just recently been put out. In addition however, people up to 30km from the Fukushima reactor are being advised to stay inside, board up gaps in their walls and do not go outside.

The horrific earthquake and the ensuing tsunami in Japan have caused widespread damage to undersea communications, according to data collected by telecom industry sources.

Secondary reports are saying that the blast comes from the suppression pool.
