If you are teaching elementary school children and need help with anything from classroom management to teaching phonics or how to use games and songs effectively, then the one-day certificate courses in teaching children should be right up your alley. These courses have been run annually for over ten years, gaining a high reputation amongst the Japanese education community and could also be a crucial boost ahead of a difficult few months.
David Paul, author of ‘Teaching English to Children in Asia’, ‘New Finding Out’ and other books, will be the trainer on all courses which will be held on Sundays in nine cites around Japan, starting this Sunday in Tokyo.
The courses provide a general introduction to child-centered learning. All sessions are interactive. Methodology is underpinned by theory, but the emphasis is on how this theory can be applied to the teaching of elementary school children in the Japanese classroom.
